Sub Continent
A large part of a continent is referred to as a subcontinent and is separated from the rest of a continent by something like a mountain range or by tectonic plates, and one known subcontinent is that of India. And the best way to explore and travel a subcontinent is by train, thus the railways have become an integral part of the transportation system of a subcontinent. During the journey, there are various stopovers at different stations or at some scenic spots and since the journey can be a long one, basic modern facilities such as air-conditioning, toilets, pantry cars, etc. equip the trains. On the other hand, the rail stations are also equipped with waiting and retiring rooms, self-help trolleys for shuttling luggage; and some rail stations even have book shops, chemists, eateries, and tourist information centres and post offices.
