Rest Areas & Parking
Vehicle parking and rest areas are spaces/lots particularly designated for parking vehicles including cars, motorcycles and trucks. These spaces can be found outside business establishments such as malls, restaurants and shops, and inside or underground residential and commercial buildings. Most parking areas charge vehicle parking by hour, but there are also some parking spaces that allow parking for free. The latter are usually public parking spaces, school parking lots and business owned lots created for customer parking only. Generally, parking areas are designated only for four wheeled vehicles, some even ban motorcycles from parking in their garages. But as the number of motorcycle, motor scooter and bike users’ increase, some businesses and cities recognised the need for public parking lots for these type of vehicles. Motorcycle parking spaces are currently expanding in New Zealand, UK and the U.S.
